This rescue folding knife has a 4-3/4″ long clip point style blade with notches down the spine, triple riveted Micarta handle with finger grooves, lanyard hole and a steel butt that can be used as a glass breaker.
The lanyard hole can be optionally used as an additional lock mechanism. When used as a lock, a special steel pin (included) has to be inserted in that hole; in this way, blade stays locked opened.
Includes a black Cordura sheath that has three pockets, one for the knife in folded position, another for the knife in unfolded position, and a small one for the locking steel pin.
This knife is a strong and dependable folding knife. Because of its size, it works efficiently in hunting, rescue and camping typical tasks. You can carry it folded or unfolded, like a regular knife. Sheath works in both ways.
Blade made of Molybdenum Vanadium MV-58 stainless steel is 4-3/4″ long and 3/16" (4.7 mm) thick. Knife's total length is 10-5/8", unfolded, and 5-7/8", folded. It has 58 RC hardness, which ensures a long lasting sharpness. Item weighs 16.8 oz. Handle is made of Micarta, a multilayered material that includes epoxy resin and linen fabric, which has very good grip and is very durable.
Knife is dishwasher safe, however, for lasting sharpness, drying with a soft cloth immediately after machine or hand-washing is recommended.
Limited lifetime manufacturer's warranty.
Made by Forester,
This knife is impressive. Fit and finish is excellent. It opens very smoothly; the blade can be sent out with very little effort. It locks open tightly. The sheath with accept the knife with the blade locked open. However, I don't normally carry it that way because the handle sticks up high above the sheath; it would be fine in a pinch.
